All About the Looks and Power of the Upcoming 2018 Ford F-150

While the video above covers the new design elements of the forthcoming 2018 Ford F-150, those who are wondering how much more they can tow and haul just how much. Unfortunately, the class-leading entry for 2018—the new Power Stroke Turbodiesel V6—hasn’t had its power and efficiency figures launched, but the gasoline engines have, and every engine sees a bump.

Every engine but the twin-turbo V6 that was introduced last year. That mill will still offer 12,200 lbs. max towing and 470 lb-ft of torque—best-in-class figures—until the turbodiesel launches. The good news is that its ten-speed automatic transmission will be offered on every model but those with the base engine, a new 3.3-liter naturally-aspirated V6 with 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. That engine gets a six-speed automatic. Furthermore, both the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and 5.0-liter V8 have been retuned to produce 400 lb-ft of torque respectively.

The new 2018 F-150 arrives this autumn, and the turbodiesel will debut next summer. If that coincides with your needs for a new truck, you can learn more by contacting the sales team at our Ford dealership in Huntley, IL.
